Detailed rules and regulations about foreigners visit China visa free

The foreigners from the following three countries:Japan, Singapore, Brunei,who come to China for tourism, business, visiting relatives and friends or transit,spending not more than 15 days, can be exempted from visa,except:(1)Ordinary passport holders who travel to China for business, visiting relatives and friends spending more than 15 days;(2)Holders of ordinary passports in China to study, work, live, interview;(3)Holders of diplomatic, official passport.


Since November 15th, 2000,the foreigners having ordinary passports from the countries that have got diplomatic relations with China come to Hong Kong, Macau and their tourism companies are registered in Hong Kong, Macau.When they come into the Guangdong Pearl River Delta region (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Huizhou and Zhaoqing, Shantou City under the jurisdiction of the administrative district) for tourism, and stay for not more than 6 days, they can be exempted from visa.


Aliens who hold connecting tickets,and the plane directly fly through China, and stay in the transit city for no more than 24 hours, not out of the airport, can be exempted from visa.


The foreigners from following 20 citizens, no matter what kind of the passport, can stay in Shanghai for less than 48 hour with free-visa:South Korea, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy.


The citizens of the following 19 countries with ordinary passport, whose international travel agency was approved by the National Tourism Administration in Hainan and they will travel to Hainan Province, stay for not more than 15 days,can be exempted from visa:

Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Germany, Britain, France, Austria, Italy, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand.
